This course is delivered through a combination of online learning and practical experience through work placement. You can arrange your own work experience or we can provide assistance to find a placement opportunity for you. You will also need access to a computer, the internet and have basic computing skills.

You also have the support of our qualified trainers and admin support team. Online learning also allows you to plan your study around your busy life and to learn in your own time at a pace that suits you.


Recognised Prior Learning

If you already have extensive experience as a Care Worker and/or have other related qualifications in the Aged, Disability or Home and Community Care sector you may be able to take advantage of our Recognised Prior Learning option.

Core Units Of Competency

This course consists of 7 core units and 6 elective units. The 7 core units are compulsory and include:-

  • CHCCCS015 Provide individualised support
  • CHCCCS023 Support independence and well being
  • CHCCOM005 Communicate and work in health or community services
  • CHCDIV001 Work with diverse people
  • CHCLEG001 Work legally and ethically
  • HLTAAP001 Recognise healthy body systems
  • HLTWHS002 Follow safe work practices for direct client care.

Once the core units have been completed you can then decide which sector you would like to specialise in and complete the units for that field of work, as well as a few other electives to ensure you meet the National Training Package requirements.

Work Placement

During this course you will need to complete 120 hours of relevant work placement to gain competency in this qualification.

Entry Requirements

The CHC43015 Certificate IV in Ageing Support is Australia’s nationally recognised Aged Care training course. It reflects the role of support workers who complete specialised tasks and functions in aged services. This may include aged care facilities, home or other community based aged care environments.

With this qualification Aged Care Workers can take responsibility for their own outputs within defined organisation guidelines and maintain quality service delivery through the development, facilitation and review of individualised service planning and delivery.

It is also an ideal qualification to obtain if you are already working in the sector but need to formalise your qualifications to further progress your career.
